Paper Presented

I have had word from my Co-Author on the paper he presented in Spain regarding this topic:

"I attended the Psychology & IT 2004 conference in Cadiz, Spain last week where I presented a paper summarising my 2002 paper and our paper. For your cv. the reference for the conference presentation is as follows:

Charlton, J.P., & Danforth, I.D.W. Differentiating computer-related addictions and high engagement. Paper presented at Psychology & IT 2004, University of Cadiz, September 2004.

As I have previously mentioned, the proceedings of the above conference have been published as a hardback book. The reference for the book is:

Charlton, J.P., & Danforth, I.D.W. (2004). Differentiating computer-related addictions and high engagement. In K. Morgan, C.A. Brebbia, J. Sanchez, & A. Voiskounsky, Human Perspectives in the Internet Society: Culture, Psychology and Gender. Ashurst: WIT Press.

The book will shortly be available in the US via amazon.com and WIT Press (witpress.com). On Amazon the book is a ridiculous $256 (for a 566 page book), and although there may be a slight discount at the WIT Press site (the price is not clear on this site – the information given is not accurate as yet) I am sure the WIT price will still be extortionate. The book was distributed at the conference as part of the conference package – and, if I had not got it for free, I am not sure that I would have been willing to pay the price asked for it (although the book looks impressive from the outside, much of the material is not particularly interesting: apart from our paper...."

As he says, if your super interested in this topic, it might be worth getting the book. Other than that though....

Project 21

While not related to the Psychological research of this site, this is another valuable project:
